One question I was asked was how knowledge of one field feeds into thinking about another. It occurred to me that I had an interesting example, a case where two unrelated fields, both of which I have worked in, showed that two different arguments for a conclusion in a third field were both wrong. The three fields are physics, economics, and climate science. The conclusion, widely repeated, is that global warming will result in either more frequent or more violent hurricanes, or both. The conclusion may, for all I know, be correct. The first argument is that hurricanes get their energy from heat, so can be expected to be more violent or more frequent if there is more heat to feed them. That sounds plausible—provided you don't know the relevant physics. A friend of mine came over tonight and we played and shared techniques.

It was alot of fun.

It's kind of funny. I seriously wonder sometimes if we are Twins. bc she must be in my head. I swear to you I will tell her something that I bought and she will have either bought the same thing, or had it in her cart to buy and thought better of it or I had it in my cart and decided not to and she has bought it! First up is this sketch of Demeter's lovely daughter Kore, after her transformation into the Dread Queen of Hades, Persephone. And nextly, someone who has ended up being one of my favorite characters in the book, Hekate, goddess of the Crossroads. It's a subtle little craziness in her face that is the thing I like about her so much. I think I was singing "Hush, Little Baby" a lot that year. Bill Brock posted this video, submitted by an eye witness who claims to have seen a bigfoot creature in the Sebago Lake area of Maine. Check it out:.

Last week was a pretty incredible one for North Devon surfer Andrew Cotton of West Wetsuits.

He first of all caught huge Aileens on the Tuesday followed by a flight to the West coast of the States and big Nelscott Reef on the Thursday and then back to Aileens for more of the same on his return. There's a great picture of him at Nelscott reef atSurfers Village and there are more details at TowSurfer. Good work that leaves the world softer and fuller and better than ever before is the stuff of which human satisfaction and spiritual values are made. Joan Chittister. On my way home from work today, I tuned into NPR and heard a very intense and moving story about military burn victims from the Iraq War being treated for their injuries. One must consider the fact that the staff are working with individuals who are horribly disfigured, often lacking recognizable faces and features. One nurse described how he has a place along the highway on the way home where he stops to cry, meditate, or scream, so that he can arrive home having released some of the emotions which were generated during the workday. Defending nursery educationDespite high levels of expenditure on the early years, concerns remain that high quality early years education is being relentlessly closed down and replaced with cheaper alternatives.

Recently, Blackburn with Darwen has used its "powers to innovate" to take headteachers away from seven of its nursery schools - Early Education says that this has "already impoverished the quality of educational experience offered to its youngest children.

" You can read their full statement here. Meanwhile, in Manchester, there is a feisty campaign going against the privatisation of early years provision in the Sure Start Levenshulme area. At the Kids' Academy day nursery, which is part of Manchester's Burnage Children's Centre, Ofsted found that: “nappies are changed on torn mats with foam exposing, feeds are left in bags on top of a radiator and the fridge is dirty and smells of sour milk. Babies are provided with some manufactured toys, which they hardly access and are left to crawl around aimlessly.

Children do not benefit from a consistent staff team, who know the children well to meet their individual needs.

The Yellow Lady’s Slippers along the back drive had one early bloom and four late ones…so there were five in total. This year there are four… and this one makes five. We have been working on our woodcarvings that are Christmas Ornaments. She was resting…and Handy Andy will be taking good care of her. Spring Cleaning can give you lots of time to think. Sara Haines of the Hoda and Kathie Lee Show visited the Artic Cat snowmobile factory in Thief River Falls Minnesota. Sara said “ It was so cold your skin hurt. ” Hoda replied “Your nose hairs freeze. via.

That game will be played in Delano.

A win there puts them in a state semifinal game, also held on Sunday. The championship game is scheduled for Labor Day at noon in Maple Lake. Labels: Lake Henry Lakers, Stearns County League amateur baseball. After all, time has passed and the characters are all radically different. It's not a disaster, thankfully, but it needs revision. Then there's the teases.

A whole bunch of teases.

Since I am filling in for Julee I used random. Jessica W. the brands… sweater: express. necklace: macy’s. skirt: jolt. tights: ? boots: dolce vita. Ruching is a sewing technique which gathers fabric to form what I consider little ruffles. It’s a very flattering way to conceal anything that needs concealing… and also can create a nice lean line when vertically placed. I went on ruching overload this weekend and wore not only a ruched top, but a ruched skirt as well! Yesterday, I posted my fancy peek-a-boo tights outfit, so today I’m sharing my casual version. Flat boots did the trick! Still a little sexy, but much more casual and everyday than the dress and heels look. d. R. Wow - how and when did that happen? And she's doing great on pretty much every level - she's starting to talk in English and Spanish. She runs around like a maniac. But in any case, Will and I have thought that maybe it's time to start the weaning process on both the bottle and/or pacifier fronts. There are an abundance of blessingsin this Gospel story—allow me to share some of them with you. “There was a wedding—and the mother of Jesus was there. ”In this Gospel, the Apostle John, never calls Mary by name, but always “mother” or—in two places—“Woman. ”The thought of a wedding invokes many images:Joy. Celebration. Family and friends. New Beginning. Everything here signals we are talking aboutthings on two levels: natural, and supernatural. The first reading describes Godmaking a marriage with his people. bitsandpieces. So I thought if I was going to play with the new smaller chest I may as well have a go at the three stacking ones I bought in Jubail a few months back!! Not looking too bad. though I think I will play some more. I used the big earring gem stones for the centres of the flowers. And some of the naff little flowers I got in the supermarket, which actually look pretty good now!. Lots and lots of stories to tell and events to process, all in good time. Paul told me my Letter from Harrisburg was in the paper yesterday. Your prayers and support mean so much and I can't express my gratitude enough. I was on Merlin, riding up a hillside at a steady trot when I heard the sound of a text message in my headphones.

I'm trying not to treat my phone as a walkie talkie, something you need to instantly react to.

I was on a horse, after all.

Whoever it was would surely understand the dangers of texting and driving. So I let it go. Merlin saw the land rise before him and started to canter. My camera was strapped tight around my chest like a slingback and it clanked against as as we made our way to the highest spot on the hillside. That was our goal, the overlook. Damn!. I wrote a book this morning!. Hello my amazing friends, and Happy FRIDAY! I won't take up too much of your time, just wanted to share a few quick reminders. FIRST.

The kid's had fun punching out al the pieces and putting it together. The dog house is our Fancy Favor Big Shot die upside down that I added a roof to. I ran the roof thru the big shot using the Square lattice embossing folder for texture. I gave each of the girl's a anti bacterial soap from Bath and Body works to put inside. They turned out really cute!.

More terns on Monday, this time on the Glasson and Conder Green circuit.

Even after such a lovely sunny morning I resisted puns and the obvious post title of “Terned Out Nice Again. ” Many people confuse terns with gulls and although related the two families of birds have marked differences. Most terns are elegant, slim and streamlined and are often called "sea swallows" because of their long narrow wings, long forked tails and swift, graceful flight. In general the tern family of birds have long tapering bills and fly with them pointing downward as their keen eyesight scans the water below. Terns take live food but rarely alight on water, and instead plunge headlong into it to capture prey beneath the surface. Most gull species are scavengers of the highest order, more heavily built than a tern, with broader wings, square or rounded tails and business-like bills equipped for mischief. Gulls are not nearly as good looking as just the average tern. from those who might claim that the two 'men' who slit the throat of Father Jacques Hamel as said said morning Mass at his church in Rouen were just mixed up individuals. all of this is to be disregarded. Islamic terrorism does not exit.

Well, go to it if you will.

In keeping with the theme of this blog, I made cards of them from their "rookie" season. Warning: not safe for work. I stumbled across this while I was drafting a post. . I'm on the Reverse Confetti blog today with this week's Wednesday in the Works feature. Hope you'll join me there for a creative stitching idea using Edge Essentials Confetti Cuts. For now, here's a little peek!. I don't have a problem with a horse tiring in its last prep for a big race, especially a guy like Uncle Mo, who would figure to greatly benefit from the race conditioning given that he hadn't done a whole helluva lot for the last several months. I can't even venture a guess as to how he'll be treated on the tote, which has offered up some big surprises on Derby day the last few years. I mean, it's not like he ran fast and then tired. You'd think that a champion colt would at least be able to re-break and show some fight. The thing is, his championship was built on brilliance and dominance, and he never had to pass a real test until now. Oh man, did he fail. Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge here at Really Reasonable Ribbon. Please scroll down to the next post for the winners of the last challenge.
